The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that includes both men and women supporting issues but not candidates and parties. We are particularly concerned about government, citizen participation, and areas of concern relating to social and health matters, education, the environment, and international affairs.
What Do We Do?
Our local league presents Candidates' Forums before elections, distributes non-partisan Voters Guides of Texas state political candidates, uses VOTE411.org for our on-line voters guide, and registers voters. We help present environmental seminars and are a member of the Franklin Mountains Wilderness Coalition. Annually, we present a BRAVO Award in recognition of singular community service given by an El Paso individual.
When Do We Meet?
Our open meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month, September through November and January through April. Speakers give a wide variety of information on civic matters, social concerns, international events, the environment, health, and political issues.
How Do I Join?
Our membership is open to people 16 and older. Contact us and we will send you a membership application or click on the Join Us button.
